Igneus Self Defense takes a holistic approach to safety and empowerment. Igneus prioritizes enthusiastic community, passionate self devotion, and forceful tactics.
We specialize in fantasy-themed programming to help women find their inner strength through inspiring stories and characters. We also offer private lessons, corporate trainings, and opportunities to be part of a like-minded community.
When working with Igneus, you’ll learn how to defend and protect forcefully while cultivating a supportive community and self devotion in your daily life. Your life is worth defending, but it’s also worth living.Igneus Self Defense is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and has taught more than 3,000 students since 2022!

MEET JAX
Jax is strength personified.She is a childhood survivor of physical abuse and an adult survivor of sexual abuse. Rather than allow labels to define her, she leveraged them to fuel her fire.She began her Martial Arts training in 2014, and became a fitness professional in 2016. She also spent two years in Law Enforcement, which highlighted the gap between male-dominated training and the everyday woman.Jax launched Igneus' first class in September 2022 and hasn't slowed down since. The belief: You don’t have to be a man to be strong and defend yourself.In the last four years, she's taught and empowered more than 3,000 students and supported more than 40 local non-profits and organizations.

The FlameWork Academy is a monthly intensive Combat and Conditioning Program built to awaken your inner strength and hone the weapon you are.
Chapter 1: Awaken
Includes a personalized month-to-month Fitness Plan that focuses on power, speed, and agility to awaken your mental fortitude and develop your physical strength.
Chapter 2: Refine
An optional upgrade where a selected cadre of Awaken Students train in live combat and self defense once a week during the Academy. Skills build on each other every week.
